In a bold move to promote grassroots economic development and strengthen local productivity, the Member representing Etsako Federal Constituency, Hon. Anamero Dekeri, has successfully empowered 1,176 farmers and artisans across Etsako East, Etsako Central, and Etsako West Local Government Areas.

The empowerment programme, held from April 4th to 6th, 2026, was facilitated in collaboration with the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN) and took place at Eshioclara Events Center, along the Auchi–Okene Expressway, behind Jodek Filling Station, Okpella, with sessions commencing daily at 10:00 AM.

The initiative combined intensive training with practical empowerment, equipping participants with modern agricultural techniques, improved farming practices, and essential tools tailored to their various trades. Beneficiaries included farmers, mechanics, tailors, carpenters, and other skilled artisans, all of whom received support packages ranging from farm tools and machinery to financial grants and skill development resources.

Speaking during the programme, Hon. Anamero emphasized that the initiative goes beyond distribution of materials. According to him, it is a strategic effort to build capacity, promote self-reliance, and stimulate economic growth at the grassroots level.

“This initiative is more than just handing out resources. It’s about equipping our people with the tools they need to thrive, create jobs, and contribute meaningfully to our community’s prosperity,” he stated.

Participants expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful. Many noted that the support would significantly improve their productivity and business outcomes.

Hon. Anamero reaffirmed his commitment to sustained empowerment, highlighting agriculture and small-scale enterprise as critical drivers of development within the constituency. He also assured constituents that more impactful programmes are in the pipeline to further enhance livelihoods and economic opportunities.

The programme stands as a testament to his continued dedication to building a self-reliant, productive, and prosperous Etsako Federal Constituency.
